Five Ways to Utilize Open Arts as a Residential Assistant

  1. Become an Open Arts member - Take a break from the Res Hall and grab tickets to a show at the Mann Center or World Cafe Live! Life, for us, gets stressful so why not relax with a friend or two at a free or discounted event in Philadelphia? Sign up for Open Arts membership here

  2. Plan an off-campus floor event - Creating programs is nothing new to RA's. However, did you know that our listing of up and coming events at openartsphilly.com can supply you with your next big program? Check the website each week to find out about new arts and culture events happening around Philadelphia.

  3. Attend an Open Arts College Night - Get your students involved by attending an Open Arts College Night. College nights allow students to meet their peers in Philadelphia and have a lot of fun, for free! Not to mention, networking is one of the many wonderful things about being an RA. You get to meet students, introduce students to other students and engage with partners that can help you create top notch programming. Get details about upcoming college nights here.

  4. Connect your students to other Campus Philly programs - Campus Philly has resources for you in addition to awesome events and recommendations around the city. Did you know that Campus Philly can connect you to internship fairs, leadership seminars and networking events? See featured Campus Philly events here. Connect your students to Open Arts and Campus Philly so that they can learn more about the professional world in the City of Brother Love!

  5. Let Open Arts and Campus Philly help you - Though I know we're the type of RA's that love to create big, life changing events every week, sometimes it's not always possible. Open Arts wants to help you out with that! Get the PATCO tickets, grab some residents and head down to the Barnes Foundation or the Penn Museum or the Kimmel Center for a night of fun (that won't ask for too much planning). Give yourself a break and let Open Arts help you out, starting with Campus Philly’s annual semester kickoff event:

On September 12th from 10-4, Campus Philly’s CollegeFest is returning to Philadelphia! Bring your residents to Dilworth Plaza at City Hall for a day of fun, giveaways, vendors, awesome music and thousands of college students from all over the area! Get details here.
