New School Year, New Fun
A new school year commences and with that we welcome all college students to the city of Philadelphia! Whether you are a returning or first-year student, we want to help you get the most out of your time here.
To kick off the school year we are hosting an Open Arts College Night Series. Our college nights are completely FREE and a great way to see some of premier events with a crowd of other college students. These THREE exciting nights include: Opera on the Mall (Oct. 3), Philadelphia Orchestra Free College Concert (Oct. 20) and Open Arts College Night at the Barnes (Nov. 13). For more information and to register for these events check out http://www.openartsphilly.com/collegenight
But that’s not all! There are plenty of events coming up to keep you out in the city having fun. Here are just a couple of events I’m most looking forward to these next couple weeks as we enter into October.
Storytelling allows for anyone to be an artist and captivate the audience by sharing their experience. Each week is a different theme. On September 22nd that theme is “second opinion,” an area in which we have all had experiences with. Feel free to participate, listen to everyone’s stories and support all the local artists. No experience necessary, it’s YOUR story!
As a college student you have access to see Antigone at the Wilma Theater on a special night for college students. Like all the best events, there will be a complimentary reception including food and prizes! As if being one of the first to see this theatrical performance isn’t enough!
A big thanks to everyone who showed up to CollegeFest! We are thrilled about all the new student Open Arts members. If you still need a membership, not to worry! Just go to www.campusphilly.org/openarts for free registration details. There will be plenty more fun and exciting events to continue attending throughout the year.
