Artist Bash: Historical Memory

See Event Description
Creative inspiration often flows from the past—from your own family traditions or from experiences that connect you with someone else’s heritage. Our fourth Artist Bash dives deep into our collective historical memory to bring you contemporary expressions of traditional art forms reflecting the melting pot that is America. Performances include Spanish flamenco by La Éimi; music by National Poetry Slam champion G Yamazawa; traditional music and dance of Afro–Puerto Rican bomba and plena, featuring Los Bomberos de la Calle; capoeira by Project Capoeira; and percussion, songs, and stories by Sistahs Laying Down Hands. The evening closes with a set by Big Al 360. This is a movable feast of artistic talent so come prepared to move! Seating is limited.
