Barnes Jawn(t): Elicia Gonzales
See Event Description
Join us for an evening tour full of make-believe as we play fast and loose with everything you thought you knew about the Barnes. In Philadelphia, jawn is catch-all word for anything. A Barnes Jawn(t) is an anything-goes tour of the collection with a fascinating Philly personality as your guide. These off-the-cuff, sure-to-run-off-the-rails tours are led by a diverse array of community leaders, artists, and comic-book nerds—all experts in their fields. No two tours will be the same. Elicia Gonzales is a queer Latinx social worker with a master’s in human sexuality education. She's the executive director of Women’s Medical Fund, an abortion access nonprofit in Philadelphia, and cofounder of the SEXx Collective. She served as executive director for Galaei, a queer Latinx social justice organization, and as adjunct professor for Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies. She serves on the boards of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern PA and Bread & Roses Community Fund.
