Occupied Philadelphia Weekend
See Event Description
The Museum of the American Revolution will host a living history event that recreates the dark days of the fall of 1777. The British Army have captured and occupied Philadelphia, the capital of the new United States. Meet soldiers, civilians, and spies as they haggle over goods at market, root out American sympathizers, and debate whether this is an occupation or a liberation. Museum educators will lead walking tours of the occupied neighborhood, guests can complete a spy challenge to collect information on the British Army, and vignettes of street theater will recreate dramatic moments from 1777. In partnership with City Tavern Restaurant and Carpenters’ Hall. At City Tavern, Proprietor Walter Staib, twelve time Emmy award winning host of the acclaimed show A Taste of History, has recreated the culinary delights enjoyed by our founding fathers. Walking tour tickets sold separately or with Museum Admission. All tickets include an exclusive activity pack and spy challenge.
